Alfred Ibbitson (1890-1962)


Sunderland man served with Durham Light Infantry


Alfred Ibbitson was born in Sunderland in 1890.

He enlisted the 21st of December 1908 and served with 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry.

Ibbitson was sent to France on 8th of September 1914 with this battalion. He was then discharged on 1st of April 1915 from 3rd D.L.I. because of the wounds caused by a gun shot to his left foot.
