William Henry Anderson (1887-1917)


Durham Light Infantry


Born in Wingate, William Anderson served as a Sergeant with the 13th (Service) Battalion DLI during the First World War and was killed in action on 20 September 1917, aged 30. He is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium. His brother, John Anderson, also served with 13 DLI and killed in action on 5 October 1918.
