This book tells the story of two DLI battalions raised as part of Kitchener’s New Army in 1914, and their part in the Great War. The book is based on war diaries and personal accounts taken from letters, diaries, and newspapers. There are also photographs, maps, awards, and nominal rolls of the officers and soldiers, who were serving in the 12th and 13th Battalions DLI in August 1915.
