Guy John Hamilton Ashwin (1894-1916)
Yorkshire man served with Durham Light Infantry
Guy John Hamilton Ashwin was born in Warwickshire and lived with his family in Derbyshire and later in Yorkshire.
He enlisted with 5th Battalion Durham Light Infantry and was promoted to Second Lieutenant on 9th September 1914. The year after, on 18th April 1915, he entered France with this battalion. He was killed in action on 7th November 1916, aged 22. Ashwin had been promoted to Lieutenant.
He is buried in Warlencourt British Cemetery (Plot I, Row B, Grave 11), Pas de Calais, France.
