Spennymoor Town Hall, High Street
War memorial Plaque and book of remembrance
Type: War Memorial
Spennymoor Town Hall contain a number of features dedicated as war memorials including a large plaque from the local Kenmir Bros. factory that went missing for a number of years before being found.
On 8th May 1919 a gathering was held here to ‘Welcome Home’ teachers of the Spennymoor Education District who had served during the course of the First World War. A four page Souvenir Programme for the event was created and served as a roll of honour but it is not known if any of these programmes have survived as a memorial.
