Wilson Tunstall (1895- )

Wilson Tunstall who was living at 101 Murray Street, Hartlepool and working as an apprentice engineer pattern maker before joining the army.
He became one of the men in charge of the Batteries at Hartlepool. He went to France in August 1916 and was promoted to Sergeant, He was sent home to an Officer Cadet Unit and Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the Royal Garrison Artillery on 17 December 1917. He was posted to 289 Siege Battery RGA and joined the Battery on the Italian Front.
He was awarded the Victory medal, British War medal and the Territorial Force War medal.
It seems likely that he is the same Wilson Tunstall of Hartlepool who married Eliza Snowden, sometime in January – February 1920.

ReportedThanks for the info on my Great Uncle Wilson. I have several pictures of him, one where he had been wounded and he is hospital uniform,. The other is in his officers uniform, studio shot. I am a little unsure of the likeness to these pictures. Do you have any other data on him? Regards Mike
