Bert Wood Curry (1880-1917)
Served with the Australian Engineers
At Pozieres France from Aug 19th to Aug 23rd Sap[per] Curry was stationed at CHALK PIT and his duty was to patrol and repair the Bde line between 3rd Inf Bde 119 and the Adv. ??? Stn in Pozieres. While carrying out these duties he was exposed to very heavy shell fire and it was only by his utter disregard of personal danger in going through the enemy barrage many times to repair breaks that the Bde 119 was kept in constant touch with Stn in Pozieres.
