Joseph R. Berryman (1896-1915)


Sacriston man served with 8th DLI


Joseph R. Berryman was born sometime in 1896 to Margaret Berryman. He had an older sister, Annie, and two younger brothers; George and John. He enlisted with the Durham Light Infantry, and landed in France on 19 April 1915. He was killed just over two months later on 26 June 1915. This was reported in the Chester-le-Street Chronicle, in their edition of 24 September 1915.
