Maurice Daniel Sibson (1899 - 1977)

Maurice Daniel Sibson was born on 12/11/1899 in Norton on Tees, Durham. His father was Ernest Oswald Daniel Sibson, his mother Mary Sibson and his sister Eva Mary Sibson.
At some point in his school life he attended the Friends School at Ackworth, near Pontefract. He is listed on the 1911 Census return for the school as an 11 year-old boarder.
On joining the Friends Ambulance Unit he gave his address as 36 Elton Parade, Darlington. He gave his occupation as Dental Student and stated he was a member of the Society of Friends.
He joined the Friends Ambulance Unit on 17/9/17 and completed his training at the Quaker Training Camp at Jordans, Buckinghamshire.
He arrived in Boulogne/Dunkirk on 20/11/17 and trained as an orderly from the 21/11/17 at the Headquarters Instruction School.
From 5/12/17, he worked as an orderly in A.T.17 in Dunkirk.
He left the Unit on 3/2/18 and is shown as leaving France and being demobilised on 4/2/19.
He was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal as a member of the British Red Cross Society and the Order of St John of Jerusalem.
