Viktor Schuetze
Zeppelin Commander who bombed Sunderland
Korvettenkapitan Schuetze commanded the L11 airship which flew over the coastal city and rained down high explosives. Later in the war Schuetze was put in command of the L48 which crashed just outside Suffolk on 17 June 1917. All but three of the crew perished. Schuetze and the rest of the crew are buried in the German war cemetery at Cannock Chase.
