This book tells the stories of all the DLI’s Service battalions raised during the Great War and is based on the battalions’ war diaries, with detailed maps and some photographs. This is the only published source for many of the DLI’s Service battalions, for example the 10th Battalion DLI.
Note: No other volumes were published. Volume 1 would have told the stories of the DLI’s Regular and Territorial battalions but the author, W L Vane, died, whilst he was still researching the book.
