4th (Special Reserve) Battalion Durham Light Infantry


Type: Barracks

The barracks were active during World War I as the headquarters of the 4th (Special Reserve) Battalion Durham Light Infantry. They were enlarged in 1914 and the annual training took place in June.
4th (Special Reserve) Battalion Durham Light Infantry:
Lieutenant-Colonel W. H. Briggs, commanding;
Majors K. J. W. Leather, E. S. Curling and Sir H. S. M. Havelock-Allan;
Honorary Lieutenant S. Whan, quartermaster.
