3rd Battalion Durham Light Infantry

A series of postcards in Durham County Record Office indicate that the 3rd Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry were active here in 1909-1910 prior to World War I and that the camp was tented at that time.

Deerbolt was used as a military training camp over a long period of time. The local militia forces trained there in the 1890s and the 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry was there in the 1950s.
