Wounded Soldiers’ Visit to Stanhope
Wounded soldiers yesterday visited Stanhope Castle, the residence of Sir R Cooper, MP for Walsall. The men were shown round the grounds by the Bishop of Richmond. Later there was a tea, music by the band of the Durhams from Morpeth, and an entertainment in the Town Hall. Motor cars conveyed the men from Etherley and Bishop Auckland to Stanhope, and the proceedings were organised by Mr Aubin of Bishop Auckland.
