Elizabeth McQuillan


South Shields woman played football for Armstrong Munitionettes


Elizabeth and her younger sister, Margaret (known as Meg) were “munitionettes”; they worked in armament factories during the First World War. Elizabeth also played for the Armstrong factory’s football team.
