Robert Glendenning (1897-1918)


Sacriston man served with 4th, 13th and 20th DLI


This information appeared in the publication of the Chester le Street Chronicle, 12th April 1918:

Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Glendenning, of Victoria Street, Sacriston, have received official notice that their son Pte. Robert Glendenning, D.L.I., has been wounded in the back, right arm, and severely in the neck, and is now in hospital in Sussex. Prior to enlistment Pte. Glendenning was employed in the Butchering Dept. at Daisy Hill branch of Chester-le-Street Co-operative Society.
