Langley Park miner served with Durham Light Infantry
Charles Ward enlisted to 19th DLI while he was living in Langley Park on 03/08/1915. With this battalion he served in France, where he was wounded.
Ward was later posted to 23rd DLI at Horsea, as it can be seen in the photograph by the 20th Brigade Battle Patch above his stripes.
He was finally posted back to France with 12th DLI and subsequently discharged under King’s Regulations (Paragraph 392) on 04/07/1918.
