Herbert Booth's escape from prisoner of war camp

Newspaper announcement of Herbert Booth's escape from prisoner of war camp

Escape of a Kimblesworth M. M.

Some two weeks ago we reported that Pte. Herbert Booth, D. L. I., M. M., whose home is at Fowler’s Terrace, Kimblesworth, was missing, but the information was unconfirmed. It is now known that he was one of four who were taken prisoners but escaped from the German lines after only one month’s detention, and he is now in a French hospital. He was presented with a gold watch in October, 1917, by the inhabitants of Kimblesworth, in recognition of having won the Military Medal.
