Presentation of Military Medal to Herbert Booth

Newspaper report of presentation of the Military Medal in Kimblesworth to Herbert Booth

Kimblesworth Presentation

A presentation of a gold watch was made on Sunday to Private H. Booth, 8th D. L. I., of Kimblesworth, in recognition of his having won the Military Medal. Capt. F. Weeks, commanding A. Company, wrote to the effect that Booth was awarded his medal because on the occasion of an officer’s orderly being wounded, he at a moment’s notice accompanied the officer on a daylight patrol over ground which was being sniped by enemy machine gun and rifle fire. He had on previous occasions done excellent work. Capt. Weeks expressed the opinion that Booth was worthy of any recognition that could be given to him. Before the presentation there was a procession through the village.
