Award of Military Cross to Captain Cyril Jacobs

Awarded the Military Cross
Captain Cyril Jacobs, son of Mr Israel Jacobs, the Elms West, has been awarded the Military Cross. Captain Jacobs was educated at Argyle House School, and Durham University College of Medicine, taking the degree of M.B., B.S., in 1914. In September of that year he was commissioned as lieutenant in the R.A.M.C., and was shortly after promoted captain. After serving at Aldershot and the base hospital at Boulogne he was moved to the front. In January last he was mentioned in Sir Douglas Haig’s despatches.
