The story of Sunderland’s own DLI Territorial Force battalion during the First World War based on war diaries and personal accounts taken from letters, diaries, and newspapers. There are also photographs, awards, and nominal rolls of the officers and soldiers, who landed in France with the battalion in April 1915. There is also a chapter on the 2nd/7th Battalion and its role in the Allied expedition to North Russia in late 1918.
