Through this interactive and hands-on talk and exhibition presented by Anne Wall and Eileen Brereton, former nurses themselves and co-authors of Home Comforts: The Role of Red Cross Auxiliary Hospitals in North Riding of Yorkshire 1914-1919, the valuable work and support of the Red Cross Auxiliary hospitals, their nurses and the work of volunteers in the community will be brought to life, as they demonstrate how they aided the recovery of the wounded and sick soldiers sent to the North of England.
